Mission

The Performing Arts Center's mission is to educate, inform and entertain K12 students, their families and multi-generational audiences from all over the San Gabriel Valley by hosting and presenting arts performances and educational experiences that promote learning and creativity while deepening our residents' appreciation for the role of the arts in community life. We believe in the power and magic of the performing arts to enrich the lives of people of all ages in San Gabriel Valley by providing a link between traditional education, the arts, community engagement, lifelong learning, and the promotion of a healthy and vibrant multi-generational community.

History

The Performing Arts Center of Baldwin Park was built in 1996 with the help of the Baldwin Park Unified School District to provide the traditionally underserved communities of Baldwin Park and San Gabriel Valley a cultural facility that can offer high quality of service, a professional environment and stat-of-the-art experience. The Center's 14,605 square feet of space and 36-foot curved wall of glass overlook the mountains of San Gabriel Valley. It has a 408-seat auditorium and proscenium arch stage. Designed by the award-winning architectural firm of Fields & Devereaux, the Center is committed to make the arts more accessible to the broad and diverse but underserved audiences of San Gabriel Valley.

The Performing Arts Center Foundation was created in early 2009 to support the work of the PAC and bring this to the next level. The Foundation board is composed of artists, community leaders, educators and corporate representatives. The group provides counsel and assistance in programming, fundraising, educational outreach, marketing and community engagement. It is currently operating under the auspices of the non-profit Baldwin Park Community Center.
